It was the man behind the theory on multiple intelligences, the internationally recognised Professor of Cognition and Education Howard Gardner, who was on stage at the opening of Universe Research Lab in June 2007 at Alsion in Sonderborg. 'From Multiple Intelligence to Five Minds for the Future' was the title of Gardner's opening speech.
Howard Gardner is mainly known for his theory on multiple intelligences, also known as MI, which challenges former theories claiming that an individual only possesses one kind of intelligence. Gardner claims that there are 8 forms of intelligences – possibly more – and his research has broken new ground within the field of educational theory. For a number of years Gardner has visited countries all over the world giving lectures on his theory that there are more intelligences than merely the mathematical and logical intelligence.
