Frans Ørsted Andersen has recently turned in his PhD-dissertation for evaluation at Aarhus University, School of Education (DPU). The Title is “Danish and Finnish Learning Environments. The Danish and Finnish PISA Results in a Qualitative, Comparative Perspective”.
This opens opportunities for initiating further joint, inter-Nordic, comparative educational research projects, which Frans Ørsted Andersen is presently working on. The Nordic Council of Ministers is requesting more projects of this character and Frans participates in a group of researchers from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden who are trying to describe such new projects right now. Frans hopes to be able to integrate elements from Positive Psychology in these projects, just as he did in his PhD.
Further information about this may be obtained from Frans himself (fran@dpu.dk) or in his PhD-dissertation, which will be available at DPU from September. Insight into his research process and results can also be obtained by checking out articles in English at
www.legolearning.net or in Frans’ books in Danish "Finsk pædagogik - finsk folkeskole", (Dafolo Forlag, 2007) or in "Flow og fordybelse", (Hans Reitzel Forlag, 2006).
